Program Overview
The LeanTPS™ Standardized Work Practitioner Program is a comprehensive education and certification system designed to develop practical capability in one of the foundational elements of the Toyota Production System. Rather than teaching Standardized Work as a collection of forms or documentation, the program develops the knowledge, understanding, and practical skills required to establish, apply, sustain, and continuously improve Standardized Work within real operating environments.
Built on Toyota Production System principles, the program combines structured learning, guided practice, workplace application, instructor and facilitator resources, and practitioner certification into a progressive learning experience. Each component builds upon the previous one, allowing participants to develop competence through understanding, application, verification, and continuous improvement.
The complete program consists of six integrated learning components that support participants throughout their certification journey, from foundational learning through workplace implementation and professional certification. Together, these resources provide a structured pathway for developing Standardized Work capability that can be applied immediately within manufacturing, construction, healthcare, government, and service organizations.
Toyota's Learning Philosophy
The Toyota Production System develops capability through a structured learning process rather than through isolated tools or individual techniques. Each concept establishes the understanding required to successfully apply the next, allowing participants to build competence progressively through education, practice, application, and continuous improvement.
The LeanTPS™ Standardized Work Practitioner Program follows this same philosophy. Learning begins by establishing the foundational principles of Standardized Work before progressing through guided exercises, workplace application, instructor support, facilitator coaching, and practitioner certification. Every component has a defined purpose and contributes to the development of practical workplace capability.
Rather than measuring success by course completion alone, the program emphasizes demonstrated understanding, practical application, and the ability to establish, sustain, and continuously improve Standardized Work within real operating environments.
Toyota develops capability through a progressive learning sequence:

Build foundational knowledge through structured education.
🟦 Understanding
Connect concepts into an integrated management system.
🟦 Capability
Develop the ability to apply Standardized Work within real operating environments.
🟦 Continuous Improvement
Use Standardized Work as the foundation for ongoing improvement.
