Turn reading into a learning habit
Free resources give you a starting point for observation, discussion, and further study. Use a simple routine to connect new ideas with experience.
1. Understand the purpose
Ask what condition the method is intended to establish and why that condition matters to the people performing the work.
2. Observe actual work
Compare the explanation with what happens in a real process. Record what you see, the questions that arise, and the information you still need.
3. Reflect with others
Discuss the observations with the people involved. Use their experience and the available evidence to refine your understanding and identify the next learning step.

Where should I begin if I am new to the Toyota Production System?

Do I need an account to use the free learning experience?
You can watch the introductory video without an Academy account. Free registration is required to continue into the complete written learning experience. Registration does not enrol you in the paid Practitioner Program.
Where are the articles and newsletter published?
Articles and publications are available through LeanTPS.ca. The Lean TPS: The Thinking People newsletter is published on LinkedIn, which manages newsletter subscriptions and sign-in.
Are the planned guides available to download now?
The planned resource categories describe the direction of future development. Each released download will have its own link and access details. Begin with the free learning experience and the published reading linked on this page.
Can I use a resource for team learning?
Follow the usage terms provided with the individual resource. For questions about reproducing materials, incorporating them into training, or teaching under a licence, contact LeanTPS™ with your intended use.
Does reading the resources lead to Practitioner Certification?
Resources support learning and professional development. Practitioner Certification requires completion of the program’s learning activities, workplace Practitioner Project, and assessment requirements. The program overview explains the complete pathway.
